Pluto's Training Hall - Sora
GENERAL CHARACTER STATISTICS
Senshi Name: Sailor Cloud
Civilian Name: Sora Flin (Pronounced Sew-ra Flen)
Gender: Female
Species/Race: Venutian
Age: 18
Birthplace/World: Born on Venus. Currently living in Crystal Tokyo.
Occupation/School/Grade: Outside of Pluto’s Training Hall, Sora is a waitress at a Russian restaurant called “Blievoi’s”. Now she is in the second-last year (she is being held back a grade) of Pluto’s Training Hall.
More: Sora’s mother is a pushy woman who likes the best for her in all leadership positions, whether it be requesting that she be an RA or requesting that she be in line for the title of Sailor Venus. Both of which, Sora isn’t too rapt about.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
General Appearance: Sora always has a haphazard look to her. Her short, black hair is always messy and matted. Her yellow eyes are often glassy from too much alcohol. She does do a bit of running, to keep from being overweight, but only enough to keep her in the average weight range. Her height is about 5”5, but she’s not one to measure herself. Her clothes are all dark. She might have had lighter clothes once upon a time, but she refuses to let anyone touch them for washing. She does shower occasionally, by turning on the shower and standing under it for a few seconds (fully clothed, mind you). If she starts smelling… There’s always ‘shower in a can’ (deodorant)
Strengths: Sora is very intelligent (she has very little patience for stupid people), and, when she wants to be (or isn’t drunk), she can be Sorate a good leader.
Weaknesses: Sora is the epiphany of laziness. Plus, most of the time she’s either drunk or with hangover, so alcohol is a major weakness.
More: Sora’s a bit worried about going to PTH, as she thinks that it might be an alcohol free zone. Withdrawal symptoms could be occurring.
MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS
Current Goal/Purpose: To get out of PTH. Possibly start up her own small business so she doesn’t have to take orders from people, and can give orders herself.
Talents: Sora can drink large quantities of alcohol. She has an uncanny knack for being lucky with things too, like in flipping a coin or card games.
Inabilities: Anything that takes too much effort.
Fears: Cleanliness. Anyone who threatens her unhygienic empire is an enemy. Occasionally her guardian Abbey.
General Personality: Her personality is as haphazard as her appearance. Sora doesn’t like to do things herself, choosing the easy way every time (even if it means hurting herself), and if she can get someone else to do it, she’s extremely impatient. She loves alcohol. It’s a past time. She’s recently begun smoking too.
Sora’s relationships with people are made on a basis of how much she has to see them- if it’s rarely, she hates them and they can go away. If it’s often, she hates them, but she copes. Sometimes she might actually make a friend she can converse/go drinking with.
And at all times, if there is any mention of ‘cleaning’, Sora is out of the room as faster than you can say the word.
She’s off in her own little world most of the time anyway, preferring to make do with what she’s got then go off and get annoying little distractions (like mobile phones, or movies, etc.)
Inner Personality: Sora is a little bit of an attention seeker. She keeps pushing people away, but if she’s ignored, Sora can’t stand it. Especially if the person not paying attention to her is one of her rare friends.
Secret: Sora used to be the world’s biggest goody-two-shoes. Her first drink of alcohol kind of turned her, and she prefers to forget about being so good and wholesome. However, her younger side still plays a part in her life, and deep down, Sora would be truly honoured to be Sailor Venus. Not that she’d show it.
More: On relationships with her family- Sora doesn’t really like her mother, who insists on believing that Sora is still the light of the world. Her little brother scares her, as he’s a pyro and does things like pull the wings off insects. She’s never met her father, but from what she’s heard, she’s become a lot like him.
On relationship with her guardian (Abbey the mouse)- Abbey is the kind of friend who looks at Sora and goes ‘now why did you do that’… Sort of the only voice of reason Sora listens to. And is a little scared of (yes, a mouse can scare Sora if it wants to).
SAILOR SENSHI STATISTICS
Senshi Of: The wind
Henshin Object: A small yellow stick with a circle on top. In the middle of the circle is a star.
Colour: A mustardy yellow orange.
Secondary Colour: Sky blue.
Talisman/Weapon: None
Element: Wind
Strengths: In battle mode, Sora’s mind often clears enough and she becomes a brilliant leader. Most people don’t listen to her at first, as they don’t expect that sort of thing from Sora, but when they do she often comes up with quite good attack strategies.
Weaknesses: Sora’s physical strength isn’t the best. She can’t fight very well at all and if she wants to deal any damage is left with special attacks and quick thinking.
First Attack: Violent Breeze- Sora makes a stance and opens her hands up to the enemy. A blast of wind emanates from her hand, blowing the enemy and any dust particles away (would be handy for cleaning if Sora ever did any)
Second Attack: Cloudy Tornado- A cloud builds up in Sora’s hand, and as she pushes it forward, becomes larger, and then starts spinning around into a tornado. This tornado is impossible to breath in (is made completely of carbon dioxide cloud) and of course sweeps anything in it’s path up (including any other Senshi that happen to get it the way)
HISTORIC BACKGROUND
General History:
Sora’s mother used to travel around a lot, and one day found herself on Earth, in merry old England. There, she met the supposed ‘love her life’ at a book shop – the Irish owner of the shop, and they got married, moving back to Sora’s mother’s home of Venus.
However, Sora’s mother wasn’t to bright. She had a tendency to see only the good in people and failed to see the blatant flaws in her husband’s personality- he was a drunk, he hated all her friends, and he didn’t do ANY work. What’s more, he didn’t understand Venutian, and being away from his books written in English bothered him. So, he filed for a divorce and ran back to England and his friends that he had left behind there. What he didn’t know was that his ex-wife was pregnant.
14 months later (Earth time, mind you, not Venus time), Sora was born.
It wasn’t long before her mother discovered she had a Senshi aura, and decided that she should be Sailor Venus. Always wanting to please, Sora went along with this. They moved to Crystal Tokyo (so they could be closer to the royal family, and her mother could rally for Sora to inherit the title), where Sora began school at the still surviving Juuban primary school (connected onto the high school). Her mother even sought for a guardian to look over Sora, and Abbey was more than pleased to be of service. Abbey and Sora became immediate friends, and no-one could be more close then them.
Soon Sora’s mother met her second husband, a handsome lawyer who moved to Crystal Tokyo from Ryobin, and they had their ‘perfect son’ to match the goody-two-shoes daughter.
Then Sora reached to high school. She was introduced to partying, boys, and… Alcohol.
Being the lovely teenager she was, Sora began to see how imperfect everything was. She became a rebel. She drunk more. Then she couldn’t be bothered rebelling. The once perfect girl became lazier and more unhygienic every day.
After a long night of drinking, and drunken discussion, it occurred to Sora that she didn’t seem to have a father (it took 15 years for this fact to dawn on her). She sought answers from her mother, and found out about before she was born. Sora asked about what her father was like and was shocked to discover that her mother was almost describing Sora herself, and that she had inherited her father’s hair colour (and style to some extent) and nose. Sora decided that one day she would make sure to get her father to come visit her (not the other way around, that would involve travelling).
Sora began to float away from her family, except for her mother who had an iron clad grip on her, and Abbey, who was still her ever faithful friend, and the only person Sora would listen to (to some extent anyway). Her mother insisted that if she was to become Sailor Venus one day, she would have to get a job and show she was capable.
So reluctantly, Sora took a job at Blievoi’s. The only reason she could keep it was because of constant nagging from her mother at the restaurant’s owner, otherwise Sora would have been fired on the spot from horrible customer relationship skills.
Then news of Pluto’s Training Hall came. Sora’s mother almost had a heart attack. Sora was immediately packed of to the school, with heavy recommendations (both from her mother and teacher’s at Juuban high who were nagged by her mother) to be an RA.
Present Life: Sora has arrived at Pluto’s Training Hall with Abbey, with not a clue what to expect (and not really caring either).
Special Historic Notes:
Writing Sample:
Sora threw her black apron on over the rest of her black clothes, as required by Blievoi’s. Or Blerch’s as she liked to call it. The apron was literally thrown on, she didn’t need to tie it around her neck. For some odd reason it just… Stuck. In a messy crumple on top of her clothes. This was nothing different to the usual for Sora, though. Sora walked over to the kitchen to get her tables for the day. The boss, a large Russian man called Yerik, looked her over with disgust.
“Can’t you ever look half decent, Sora?”
“I look completely decent. Look at me, I’m decent.”
“Have you been drinking before coming in again?”
“No…” Yerik looked at Sora, with the same discerning look as always.
“I know you have. Look, take tables 4 and 7 today, and please try not to upset the customers.”
“It’s not my fault they’re all-“
“Just go Sora. And don’t drink before coming next time”
“I only had one bottle of wine anyway…” Sora muttered as she walked out to the table area with a pen- and no notepad.
~~~
Sora arrived home, minus the apron which she left at Blievoi’s every night, and walked towards the bathroom. She needed to freshen up.
“Soooooora!” A shrill voice came from the other side of the house.
“Oh damn. You’re still alive.” Sora muttered. Her mother bustled into the room with Abbey quietly sleeping on her shoulder, “Hello Ma.”
“Sora, you MUST read this.” She shoved a piece of paper into Sora’s face. Sora read over it silently. She finished it and looked back up at her mother.
“So this is a school.”
“Yes, a SENSHI school!”
“But it’s a school.”
“Yes darling, a SENSHI school.”
“And I have to go.”
“Yes, it’s a SENSHI school. You want to be Sailor Venus don’t you?”
“Ma-“
“Come on darling, let’s pack your bags now. You can go as soon as they open”
“Ma-“ Sora watched as her mother bustled off, and her mouse guardian slept oblivious on her shoulder.
She looked back at the letter from the headmistresses of Pluto’s Training Hall.
At least it beat working at Blerch’s.
